Original Victorian’ Mr PUNCH’ Cast Iron 7lb 3kg painted iron doorstop

A really stand-out characterful piece: VERY HEAVY: Weight: more than 7 lbs more than 3 kg. Height: 12 1/2 inches 32 cms. Max width: 9 inches 23 cms. Bought by my late-mother from a local house-clearance business in 1983 and. Displayed in the Victorian fireplace area of her terraced holiday home in. No doubt inspired by the famous Swanage seaside Punch and Judy Show – one. Of the last of this Victorian favourite to remain in the country. Condition: In general very good with the majority of the paintwork beautifully preserved. Some light superficial rusting has occurred in a few areas during. Several years of attic storage. Antique Victorian 2 lb Cast Iron Kenrick Dumbbells. Gym Weights. C1870. Doorstop

These two unusual Cast Iron Dumbbells by Kenrick & Sons date from the mid to late Victorian period and have a beautiful patina with remains of the old green paint and waxed thread grips. Each one is marked 2 lb but they in fact weigh 2.5 lb. Stamped with the makers mark for Kenrick & Sons. Very decorative and hard to find items that would make fantastic paperweights, door stops, shop, gym displays or props. Date: 1860 / 1880. Each one weighs approx 115 0 g / 2.
