DESCRIPTION This is the more desirable version of the H L Judd Cos Dapper Dan doorstop with the heavier base that does not take a wedge. CONDITION Exceptional original condition. This is estate fresh and has NOT been cleaned, preserving the delicate paint found on this design. There is minimal wear as seen and no repairs or touch-ups. It has some corrosion on the reverse side. Please enlarge and view all photos as part of the description, thank you. MARK Faintly impressed 1254 in the casting. Vintage cast iron doorstop with wooden wedge. Flat iron piece with molded relief, mostly lines, shape of ear, edges of coat, etc. Impressed number on back reads 1256. Paint appears original & unretouched, with some paint loss commensurate with age and use. Wood wedge, at one time someone tried to glue it down. It seems attached by a peg, but I hesitate to manipulate it. I’ve provided lots of pictures. Measures approximately 7-5/16″ tall x 4″ wide at base x 6-3/8 long. Ships in USA only. Measuring, 12 1/2″ long by 2 1/2″ tall, this solid Cast Iron Alligator has a long thin shape and an open mouth. The tail may have been used as a door wedge. The dark green painted surface you see is guaranteed to be the first original paint and although there is some very light surface wear, this rare Doorstop is in excellent original condition with no restorations. Very nice late 1800’s early 1900’s unbranded cast iron owl doorstop. The owl has excellent form and casting and still retains a good amount of the original paint. Paint shows crackle and there is some light rust which would be expected with a item of this age. Measures 11″ tall and 5″ wide at base. About Indiana Treasure Hunt.
