Vintage (or antique) cast iron door stop, measuring approximately 11″ tall, 9″ wide, and 4 deep. It features a gnome or elf woman/mother holding a child and sitting with a cat to the lower right. It may have been multi-colored originally, as it looks like it was repainted white at some point. It was an estate find, and so unfortunately, we have no information about its provenance. Up for your review is a antique doorstop “Fireplace with a woman using a spinning wheel” original paint.. Casted by Eastern Specialty Manufacturing Co. They were in business fron 1983 to 1930. Overall in excellent condition… List in the doorstop book by smith page 243. The size is 6 ” X 8″.
It has it’s original silver base coat, and traces of the colored detail paint. It could be re-detailed with the correct coloration using these clues. It has a nice weight to it, certainly still able to stop a door, and no major corrosion.
