Mr. & Mrs. Ally Sloper Antique Cast Iron Doorstop set of 2 English 19th Century

Ally Sloper Antique Cast Iron Doorstop set of 2 English 19th Century. Being offered for sale is a pair of late 19th century cast iron English doorstops. These are from the old English cartoon about a drunken con man and his wife in. Sloper is depicted wearing a bonnet and holding a baby in each hand with a dog at her feet. Ally Sloper in depicted holding onto his umbrella for stability, he has an oversized nose and a top hat and he is dressed nicely with coattails visible. He also has a small dog at his feet. Sloper stands 10 7/8 tall and 6 1/8 across the base. Total weight is 3.7 lbs. Ally stands 11 1/8 tall and 6 1/8 across the base. Total weight is 3.5 lbs. The condition is shown in the photos. They are in fantastic condition. The enamel is bright, vibrant and appears to be original; only minimal chipping and enamel loss commiserate with age. Ally has a cast number on the back but it is illegible (3rd photo), I can not locate any number on Mrs. Antique/Vintage & Estate Items–These items are not new. They have been used and normal wear should be expected. Additional care or cleaning may be needed. Please do not expect these items to be in like new condition unless stated as such. ESTATE Find Old/Antique/Vintage Fisherman Cast Iron Doorstop No Reserve and

Pictures taken of all sides/angles, including top and bottom. They are all different. I will be listing them over the next couple of weeks. This old, antique fisherman stands approximately 11 1/4 inches tall. The bottom, across measures approximately 4 inches and approximately 3 1/4 inches front to back. The scale shows it weighing 6 pounds and 7.4 ounces. There’s some color wear, used in condition and age related wear. Again, pictures taken of all sides/angles which should speak for the description. Hubley Foundry doorstop of a Ringmaster Gentleman with a feather in his hat. REFERENCE: The Doorstop Book by John and Nancy Smith pg 212. Designed by English Illustrator Anne Fish. Signed, Fish & Numbered 269 (tough to read, but it is there). Measures approximately 9.5″ tall with feather x base approximately 4.5″ wide x 1.5 deep. I have taken a number of pictures so youe can see ith has wear and missing paint. Still a lovely item to add to your collection.
