CAST IRON HUBLEY BATHING BEAUTIES DOORSTOP MARKED FISH & 250 ON THE BACK! Fish was commissioned by Hubley to design several doorstops and his signature is on the bottom front base. On the back it looks like it is stamped 250 in the cast iron. This is a heavy doorstop weighing well over 4 pounds. It measures 11 inches tall and 5 1/4 inches wide on the base. A wonderful and hard to find antique cast iron Peter Rabbit picking carrots in Mr McGregor’s garden doorstop that measures 6.5 by 8.75 inches weighs over 4.5 pounds. This doorstop was in my Grandmother’s house in Connecticut for years. I do not see any maker marks. There is age paint loss, marks, rust on the bottom and discoloration as seen in the photo’s. Very Rare Authentic Antique Spencer Foundry Boston Terrier Cast Iron Doorstop-BL. Here we have a very rare vintage cast iron wedge style doorstop, which is an a. Ntique 1920s or 30s Boston Terrier, made by Spencer Foundry Company of Guilford, CT. This can be refrenced in the Encyclopedia of Antique Doorstops, by the Schiffer Publishing Company, with a High book value. The piece has aged nicely over many years and has darkened as shown, and also. Shows paint wear and patina consistent with age. This does have a manufacturing stress crack along the hind leg, but otherwise in very good structural shape, very solid and sturdy. Stands 8″ tall, 9″ long and 2 1/2 at the widest point. Weighs about 3 1/3 pounds without packaging. This is a very hard to find doorstop, which would be admired in anyones collection! View My Other Items For Sale.
