RARE & NEAR MINT COLORFUL HUBLEY CAST IRON ” STYLIZED PEACOCK ” DOORSTOP DOOR STOP! Highly Sought After Treasure in almost Perfect Condition with Original Paint, this Antique Doorstop was made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA in the 1920’s – 1930’s. Hubley made these in two sizes, one taller and narrower, and one shorter and wider. This one is the shorter and wider version. It measures 6 1/4″ tall and 6 1/2″ wide and is made of solid cast iron, which makes it weigh over 5 pounds! This doorstop came in several color variations, but this one, in the majestic Royal Blue, Gold, Orange and Green, is the most favored. It appears in this size and coloration in Jeanne Bertoia’s book ” Doorstops “. It also appears in this coloration in John and Nancy Smith’s ” The Doorstop Book “, but in the slightly taller and narrower version (7 1/8″ X 5 1/4″).
