Antique Hubley Scottie Dog Door Stop Original Finish in Cast Iron

This is an antique Hubley Scottie dog door stop made of cast iron, which still has it’s original finish. It is in solid condition, but the finish shows some signs of wear and tear. The Hubley Manufacturing Company produced a wide range of cast-iron toys, doorstops, and bookends. They were first incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by John Hubley, and went out of business in the 1970’s. Please let me know if you have any questions or want more pictures! Some minor wear and patina to the paint and surface with crazing as photographed no loose or flaking paint whatsoever this piece is all original and has not been repainted. Hard to find design the floral and floral baskets can be most desirable. Numbered with Hubley design number on back. Beautiful colors still vibrant with little fading to purples and greens. An unusual cast iron Victorian door stop probably depicting the commemoration of a wartime victory. The laurel wreath handle encloses a fleur-de-lys above various weaponry, spears, a cutlass and canons with canon balls at the base. On the back is the Reg No 183576 and the Victorian lozenge Design Registration Mark which is rather illegible. Dimensions: Height 44cm, width at base 24cm, depth at base 13cm.
