Cast Iron Owl Sculputure 1950’s Noguchi Era Midcentury Brutalist Sculpture / Bookend / Doorstop. Made of forged iron, this piece measures approximately 5 7/8 in. Tall x 31/4 in. Wide x 3 1/2 in. The finish has spots of green patina. The finish is in original condition. Sculpture weighs 3 lbs 4 oz.. Photos show all areas of the piece and are part of the description. Note of interest: Isaam Noguchi was born in 1904 in Los Angeles, and died in NYC in 1988. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1927 to study stone and wood sculpture in Paris. He traveled through Asia. In France he assisted sculptor Constanin Brancusi who inspired him to create his abstract sculptures for which he became world renowned. His works are held world wide.
