HILTON HEAD HUMANE (HHH). ANTIQUE HUBLEY CAST IRON STANDING. This cast iron standing English bulldog doorstop came to us as a part of a collection of doorstops gathered from the estate of a founding member of our animal shelter, who was not only a fierce animal lover but also an avid and quite knowledgeable antique collector. This bulldog is in a standing position with its stubbed tail held high. It stands approximately 6″ high; 8 1/2″ long; 5 wide and weighs 3 pounds 15 ounces. This bulldog is constructed in the characteristic Hubley, two piece design with the flat head screw visible on the left side of the figure. It has the folded over right ear and is finished in a brown with brown spots, satin finish. This pup sports a green collar. The piece shows light to moderate chipping of the finish but is otherwise in excellent condition. We have other doorstops from this collection listed and will continue to add to the listings in the next weeks; be sure to check them out.
