Antique Cast Iron Hubley Terrier Dog Doorstops / Bookends

These charming antique terrier dogs measure 5 1/4 ” in height, 5 1/2 ” length, and 2 1/8 front to back. They are stamped with the Hubley 3 digit catalogue reference. Number on the back. Each dog weighs just under 3 pounds. They function well as doorstops or bookends, as well as being great collectible dogs. These are from my own family estate heirlooms, and originate from the early 1900s. They have their original factory paint. The paint is scuffed and scraped, with some metal and rust showing through as shown in the photos. Please contact me with any questions. Antique hubley cast iron. Santa Claus doorstop salesman sample

Antique hubley cast iron. Santa Claus doorstop salesman sample. Very heavy small salesman sample Santa Claus door stop. Has the identifying numbers 231 on the bottom which identified it as a Hubley 5 1/2 in tall 2 and 1/2 in wide very heavy. Paint is flaking off and you can see the gold pot metal where the paint is missing. Very good condition for its age which is either 1915 or 1919 I can’t tell a difference between the 5 and a 9. Look close where the paint is missing you can see the gold pot metal underneath. There also seems to be other areas with numbers on the bottom but my eyesight is too poor to read them. Antique Bradley and Hubbard Painted Cast Iron Doorstop Parrot/Parakeet in Ring

Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Parrot or Parakeet in Ring By Bradley and Hubbard. For Your Antique Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-Parakeet1. Description: Antique cast iron doorstop cast in the form of a parrot or parakeet standing on a perch inside a ring. This painted doorstop was made by Bradley and Hubbard in the early 1900s. It shows a green colored parrot with a reddish-golden head. There are several shades of green, gold, red and purple within the piece. The ring itself is gold in color and is affixed to a heavy green painted base. The base has rubber bumpers on the back, which have been lost over time and only the screws that were holding them with one worn out piece on one of the two spots is left. The piece shows great details of the casting in the features of the parakeet, its feathers, and its claws. The piece is all original retaining quite a bit of its original paint (estimate >85%). The only issue we see is the piece is soiled and as such its colors are not as vivid as the photos may suggest. The piece also has losses to the paint at the edges with some signs of rust which can be seen in the photos. This is a nice size piece and weighs over seven and a half pounds. See page 97 in John and Nancy Smith’s book “The Doorstop Book” published by Schiffer Books of Atglen PA in 2006 for a similar example. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the early 1900s. Size: Measures 8″ in height, 6 3/4″ with the base measuring 6 7/8″ by 2 1/2″ and 1 3/8 in height. The doorstop weighs over seven and a half pounds. Maker: Bradley and Hubbard. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a nice antique and fairly scarce doorstop. It would make a great addition to your collection. Condition: This doorstop is in good condition with no breaks or repairs. It is all original and retains quite a bit of its original paint (>85%). The piece is fairly soiled and as such its colors are not as vivid as the photos may suggest. The piece also has losses to the paint at the edges, on the bottom of the base, and here and there on the parrot. It also shows signs of rust especially on the base and its bottom, which can be seen in the photos. Be that as it may, the piece is beautiful and worthy of a spot in your collection. Antique Still Bank, Elf / Gnome, RARE Factory Doorstop Conversion! Very Scarce

This is a original Paint factory conversion doorstop. Ive included a picture of the from the Penny Bank Book that shows this is in fact a very collectible bank from the 1930s. When looking at the Gnome/Elf it appears that the patina is heavier on the left side. Probably was sitting in the same place for a very long time. There is normal wear for its age.
