Impressive piece has unique one of kind Patina and could be either Doorstop or Bookend. Measures approximately 8.75″ long by approximately 6″ tall and although unmarked it bears the styles of Hubley by Bradley & Hubbard with the workmanship qualities of the Pennsylvania foundries.
A Late Qing Dynasty Cast Iron Statue Doorstop, China, c. This piece is crafted of solid cast iron which shows the original black lacquer. Areas of patina and surface wear is shown from age, it shows nice character. This Traditional Dragon Statue could compliment an array of interior styles, in many different settings. The cast shows exceptional details throughout. The underside is unmarked or signed. 14? Wide x 5? Tall x 3? Deep.
This antique doorstop features a beautiful brown and cream thoroughbred horse design, crafted from durable cast iron material. Hubley was a popular American brand known for producing high-quality, die-cast metal toys, giving them a sturdy and durable build. They were produced primarily during the early to mid-20th century. Dimensions: 10 1/2″ high x 12″ wide x 3 deep. Weighs about 6 1/2 lbs. Condition: Original very good, with some minor paint scratches as shown in photos. No damage, no overpaint, and no repairs. This is an original cast iron doorstop. I know the house this came from in Louisiana & it is original. It was sandblasted & repainted. I did not do it but that’s the way I got it. It is very heavy. These fox head doorstops are very rare & hard to find.
