Large Antique Cast Iron Hubley ELEPHANT Door Stop / C 1930’s 8 1/2 lbs

The paint is still 95 % intact from this circa 1930’s doorstop. You can still see how the eyes were painted. You can see how the feet were painted and you can even see the little pink at the end of his trunk. This condition is exceptional. It has never been repainted! It measures about 8 1/2″Tall and all but 12″ Long. It weighs just over 8 lbs. The condition is very good with no breaks or cracks in the casting. Please check all the pictures. LATE 19TH to EARLY 20TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE PAINTED CAST IRON TUSKED. ELEPHANT FIGURATIVE DOORSTOP, in. ORIGINAL METALLIC SILVER, GREEN &. BLACK ENAMEL PAINT, with UNPAINTED BASE & NATURALLY OXIDIZED with ORIGINAL PATINA. [100% original, dry painted surfaces]. Late 19th-early 20th century Ame ri can antique hand painted cast iron figurative doorstops of fauna. 6 12″ Width x 5 34″ Height x 3 Depth. Offered is this completely untouched, fabulous late 19th-early 20th century Ame ri can antique painted cast iron elephant door stop, with absolutely original paint and surfaces. It has naturally oxidized finish from age, consistent with its antique pedigree. The realization of the elephant is superb, with many anatomical details and accurate figuration. It appears to be fairly uncommon and with a different base and positioning of its legs than the quite similar Bradley and Hubbard cast iron elephant doorstop. This particular period piece, although from the same era as the black and white piece and with very similar overall figuration, namely the folds in the floppy ears and the pleats and wrinkles of the skin. This antique cast iron elephant doorstop is painted with a base metallic silver enamel paint. I has hand painted black enamel eye and mottled, variegated green enamel painted base. All the surfaces are original and untouched. Minor episodes of oxidation populate its surfaces. Elephant lovers and you know who you are, unite! Good to Very Good overall antique condition. Heavy rare antique 1800’s solid lead figural circus elephant doorstop iron stop

Up for sale is a wonderful antique 19th century solid lead circus elephant door stop. It is made from extremely heavy lead and has acquired a wonderful patina from age. In nice condition and measures 5 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches by 3 inches back to front. Which will be a charge of 7% due to New Jersey state law. Please make sure to look at all pictures very closely before purchasing, as most pieces in my shop are non refundable. Most items are antique or vintage and could have usual ware from age.
