Antique Vintage Figural Iron Garden Sprinkler A Frog On A Ball Not A Doorstop

Scarce authentic vintage antique cast iron toad frog atop ball, old 2nd paint, some original lighter green shows. 1920s, early 30s as found. About 8.5 inches high, hollow yet very heavy casting, about 3.5 inches across octagonal base sphere-ball. No sprinkler hardware present, easy addition. No damage or alteration other than grungy old second coat of garden green paint, solid metal, Nuydea name on back. Nice folkart vibe, great centerpiece in the potting shed, cottage, lodge or urban farmhouse. Please message any questions. 1890’s Large Advertising Cast Iron Frog Door Stop Santa Ana Iron Works (Calif)

1890’s Large Advertising Cast Iron Frog Countertop Display, or Door Stop Santa Ana Calif. The advertising is on the underside of the frog, and there is some original paint on the underside too, the color seems to be varying shades of brown. The paint is no longer on the top side of the frog, but it is clearly old looking. Cast Iron, approximately 5 1/2″ long by 4 1/2″ wide, and 3 tall. There is some light surface rust in the top side crevices and on the under side also, but not much. The Santa Ana Iron Works was founded in the 1880’s and was the oldest Iron works in the county, and the largest, occupying a full city block. Sadly, it no longer exists. Straight from an estate sale in Kentucky comes this Vintage Antique Folk Art Hand Painted Solid Cast Iron Frog Doorstop. I believe this piece to be made by Hubley, but I cannot find a marking. Condition is used, but good. Does have some paint loss and some rust, but nothing serious at all. The doorstop is very heavy and measures approximately 5 X 4 and stand 3 tall.
