DOORSTOP WEIGHS 12 1/2 POUNDS. EXTRAORDINARY FIXED STARE GREEN EYES. BODY FEATURES WELL DEFINED. UNSURE WHAT FOUNDRY HE/SHE IS FROM. WITH MAGNIFYING GLASS IT APPEARS THERE IS THE #45 (OR 46) (UPPER LEFT IN PHOTO) AND SOME UNREADABLE LETTERS ON BOTTOM. BODY FRONT OF CAT, EXCEPTIONAL, BACK CONDITION EVIDENT IN PHOTOS. Vintage Hubley Mold Signed Iron Art Cast Iron Doorstop-black Cat Green Eyes

This lovely vintage Hubley cat is 10 1/2 inches in lenght and 5 inches wide in its widest part. It has the number cast inside the cat shown in photo. It has its original paint for the eyes and mouth. The short-lived IRON ART COMPANY of Chicago, Illinois bought the mold for Hubley fireside cat doorstop. Iron Art Foundry made few doorstops in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, making mostly trivets, mirror frames, and wall sconces. This vintage piece is signed Iron Art.
