Antique Architectural Salvage Americana Cast Iron Eagle Flagpole Holder Doorstop

Antique cast iron or perhaps cast brass flagpole mount, circa early 1900s or so. Made to mount on the side / ledge of a building and hold a flag pole. Has four mounting holes on the bottom. Original wing nuts on back once held a rear bracket to secure the pole, but that piece is no longer present. Wing nuts are stiff but still turn. Would also work well as a door stop. Measures approximately 11″ wide x 7-1/4″ tall x 5-1/2 deep at the bottom. The eagle itself is approximately 4-1/2″ tall x 5″ wide at the wings. Weighs approximately 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Antique Cast Iron Lead Santa St Nicholas Door Stop Stocking Holder 1910 Hubley

Antique Cast Iron Lead St Nicholas Santa Traditional Attire Stamped 1910 Rare Hubley? Up for your consideration in this listing is an antique cast iron/lead St. Nicholas with staff (crozier), bag of toys and a scepter? Nicholas wears the traditional red robe and the bishop. 1910 is stamped on base. Nicholas stands almost 5 tall and is heavy. Still retains original paint. Because of the heavy weight, dealers/sellers have validated these old cast iron/lead figurines as statues, door stops, bookends, or Christmas stocking holders set upon the fireplace mantle. These pieces are hard to come by, and this particular St. Nick Santa listed is apparently rare as in my due diligence researching, I could not find any currently on the market. I could only find one on LiveAuctioneersSite from. It was listed as A great Antique dated 19th C. 1890 Cast Iron Original Paint Santa Clause Hubley DoorStop Figure or Statue. If this is indeed an original Hubley piece, it is not marked as such, and my extensive research indicates the 1910 stamped on base does not necessarily suggest it was made in 1910. Ive had this and several similar cast iron (lead) Santas in my collection over the past 15-20 years. At the time I was purchasing these treasures, the dealers/sellers told me they were made of lead ca. 0 from original Hubley molds and were used because of their very heavy weight to hold down Christmas stockings on the fireplace mantle.
