N exceptional cast iron, figural Flower Doorstop, Hubley Manufacturing Co. This is Hubley design #315: “Marigolds”. An impressive floral display arranged in an Art Deco, beehive-form vase. Features (4) yellow-orange Marigolds, (2) Blue Asters, (2) pale pink Daisies and a robin’s egg blue Poppy. This stop retains its original painted surface. Marked on the reverse: “315” and “MADE IN USA” (see close-up, photo #6). Protective green felt has been added to the base at some point. Minor highpoint wear on the blossoms and along the pedestal edge, as shown; otherwise Excellent with bold, vibrant (and highly-accurate) colors. The addition of the fallen leaf on the base shows the kind of detail that sets Hubley doorstops apart from the rest! See photos for complete details and close-ups. DESCRIPTION: Hubley’s superb and rare Standing Geisha doorstop. Measures about 10.75 tall. Unmarked, as is correct for this piece. Comes from a local Dallas estate, guaranteed authentic and old and check out the pics and know that you won’t be disappointed. Offered at a very nice price with reasonable Best Offers invited. The pics tell the rest of the story. The previous owner glued a piece of felt to the underside to protect the floor as shown, but this is a very minor issue, noted only for completeness. No damage or repairs. Retains the majority of its original paint with a fine oxidized patina and no re-painting as shown. The pics are very honest and show the condition well and you will receive the exact item shown in the pics. Please consider the pics to be part of the description. This is a two piece cast iron horse and has the original screws to hold the pieces together. Horse has the original cold paint. Overall condition is very nice for its age. Has some wear to the paint as seen in the photos. The cast iron has no cracks, small chip on one of the ears, no other chips or broken pieces and no repairs. 10 1/2″ tall by 12 1/8″ long. Weight is 6 1/2 pounds unpacked. Rare Hubley cast iron toy and is a must for any collector. Found at a recent 90 year estate and has been safely stored away. The glare spots are from the lights reflection and NOT on the actual surface of the item(color is great). Tough item to find and is a must for any collector. It is a very crisp casting and has acquired a wonderful patina from age. It’s in nice condition and measures 9 1/4 inches tall by 9 inches long.
