This high-quality cast iron ram doorstop likely dates back to the early 1900s. Weighing in at approximately 5 1/4 pounds, it is specifically designed to secure most doors. The ram measures 9 inches in width and 7 inches in height, with a depth of around 2 inches. Of significant importance, this doorstop is distinct from the bookend-style variety. Its design is intended to hold a door open at a slight angle, effectively preventing heavier doors from toppling it. It is not meant to stand upright on its own (please refer to the attached picture). The craftsmanship is exceptional, characterized by precise casting (unlike sand-cast reproductions) and meticulous detailing throughout.
