Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop Two Zebras Standing Surrounded by Green Plants. For Your Old Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-Zebras1. Description: A very nice vintage cast iron doorstop. The doorstop is cast in the form two Zebras standing next to each other surrounded by green plants. One of the zebras is standing with its head down, while the other is standing next to it with its head resting on its back. The zebras are colored in black and white stripes while the plants surrounding them are green in color. The zebras are standing on green glass which is the color of the top of the base. The piece retains most of its original paint with some minor losses. The back of the doorstop has black coloring surrounding the stripes of the second zebra and is stamped 3419 at the left top of the arch within the body of the second zebra. Unlike most doorstop the coloring of the zebras is on the front and back and not only on the front. A great looking piece worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 1900s (early to mid 20th century). Size: Measures 4 3/4″ in height with the base measuring 5 3/8″ by 2 3/8. The piece weighs almost three and a half pounds. Marks: Marked with the stamped number “3419” on the back at the left top of the arch within the body of the second zebra. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice old doorstop in excellent condition and retaining most of its original paint. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains quite a bit of its original paint with some losses (estimated at better than 98%). The piece is a bit soiled and would probably benefit for a good cleaning. Vintage Cast Iron Doorstop USA Spread Wing Eagle Standing Two American Flags. For Your Old Ptriotic Cast Iron Doorstop Collection-EagleFlags1. Description: A vintage painted cast iron doorstop cast in the form of an American eagle standing with his wings spread open. There are to American flags emanating from the top of his head. There are the letters USA below its feet along the edge of the base. The eagle is looking to its right with the flags forming a V above its head. The doorstop is painted in green color with golden highlights throughout. The base of the door stop is red in color while the flags are in red, white and blue. The piece is very well cast as you can see. Look at the details of the feathers in the wings and the body. Look at the details on the eagle’s face where the bill and eyes depict a stern look. The piece, which is probably no more than twenty or thirty years old, is all original and retaining all of its original paint with minimal losses. There are a couple of small paint chips on the edge of the base and some rust spots on the bottom of the base. This is a nice size piece and weighs over three pounds. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the late 1900s or early 2000s. Size: Measures 7 3/4″ at its highest, 7 3/4″ at its widest, and the base is 5 3/4″ by 2 1/4″. The doorstop weighs over three pounds and four ounces. Citca 1938 Kings Genius Standing Stallion cast doorstop. Beautiful unusual vintage original circa 1938 cast iron doorstop. This is the world famous King’s Genius Saddlebred Stallion. This Large size doorstop still retains its all original black painted features. This heavy solid piece doorstop is wedge style and flat back. It is signed and made by Virginia Metalcrafters in the USA. Also reads Copyrighted- 1938 Rife-Loth Corp. Good original condition with nice patina. Measures 12″ tall x 13.75″ long x 3 wide.

The doorstop is cast in the form of a hawk perched on what appears to be brown rock with large leaves next to it. The hawk is standing on the perch with his tail pointing down and its head looking slightly downwards. The hawk is gray in color with a yellow beak, yellow talons, and blackeyes. The base as well as the perch are colored in brown. The piece retains most of its original paint with some losses to the front of the beak, the edge of the base, and a few small spots throughout the body of the piece. The back of the doorstop has brown coloring and is stamped 78 at the bottom edge. A great looking piece worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 1900s (early to mid 20th century). Size: Measures 6″ in height with the base measuring 4 1/8″ by 2 3/4. The piece weighs slightly over 2 pounds and one ounce. Marks: Marked with the stamped number “78” on the back at the bottom edge. The doorstop is cast in the form of colorful heron standing. The heron has a gold colored head with some red colored highlights a white eye with black pupil. The heron’s body is colored in blue with gold and red highlights. The bird is standing on what looks like rocks. The doorstop has a flat base and shows the details of the rocks and the bird’s foot. The casting is very well done and shows details of the head, the feathers in the wing, and the details of the rocks. The back of the piece is painted in blue and shows the number “83” and possibly a “6” to its right near the base. The bottom of the base is covered with green felt and shows minor rust spots. A beautiful and rather rare doorstop worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century. Size: Measures 7 1/2″ in height with the base measuring 5″ by 2 3/8. The piece weighs about 3 pounds. Maker: Albany Foundry Company. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice and uncommon old doorstop. It weighs about 3 pounds and almost and is in exquisite condition with minimum losses to the beautiful coloring. A beautiful piece which would display very well in your collection of doorstops. Condition: This doorstop is in excellent good condition with no breaks or repairs. It retains most of its original coloring (estimated > 97%) with minimum wear and loss of coloring. The colors are vivid and beautiful. The felt on the bottom of the base shows some losses, soiling and wear. There are a few minor spots of rust which are seen on the base but are not evident elsewhere on the piece. All of this does not distract from the piece’s beauty and quality.
