This vintage black cat heavy doorstop is a unique addition to any collection. Made of cast iron with an arched back and tail up, it is a sturdy and reliable door stop. To confirm that this is a Hubley with 100% confidence, one would have to remove the screw holding the two halves together and look for identifying foundry marks. Unfortunately, the screw is seized and cannot be removed without damaging the piece. It appears that a prior owner unsuccessfully attempted to remove the screw as the head is slightly stripped (see photos). All indications such as paint, casting finish and fit point to Hubley as the maker. Because we cannot be certain that this is a Hubley, we have priced the cat with this in mind. It remains however that this is a very good piece that would make an great addition to a collection or alone on a shelf as a display piece. It would also work quite well as a doorstop. Height = 10 5/8 inches. Width = 7 1/2 inches.

Here for your consideration is a sweet antique cast iron cat boot scrapper or door stop. It is all heavy cast iron. It measures from head to tail 16″ and from the head to the feet it is about 8″. The condition is rusty and charming. There is a little spot on the end of the tail where it looks like the iron did not fill in when it was made. It is solid condition with no cracks.

And it’s missing its original tail my grandmother inserted a mock-tail. Rare, hard to find antique Hubley toy company manufactured Lancaster, PA. , original cast iron circa 1920’s – 1930’s, used aged condition (see photos MISSING THE TAIL). It is heavy and sturdy and retains darkened original factory paint as shown. Has surface paint wear as shown. Measures 12 ” long, x 10 ” high, x 4 front to back. Weighs 10 pounds prior to packaging and has not been washed, cleaned, oiled, or waxed.

RARE GREEN CAST IRON VARIANT FROG DOORSTOP COLLECTIBLE. This was a recent find that stopped me in my tracks. I’ve always loved these true antique cast iron frogs but this one has a very unique detail in the casting. Still present is the tadpole tail on this one of a kind doorstop collectible. I have not been able to source another one and fished through thousand of past auctions for an example. Would invite and most appreciate any info from other collectors on this special toad. Measures just under six inches in length head to tail and about 4-1/2 wide. Heavy old school cast iron. This one aims to please and would be a great addition to any collection. Multiple layers of frog green shown nicely in the pics. A dot cast iron application on the one under foot. Not sure if that was a foundry mark or other. All in all, no issues other than its a beauty. This solid cast iron doorstop measures 9 3/4 inches high by 5 7/8 inches wide at the base. It is labeled in the book as (three fish). As you can see in the photos the fish is in great condition with a nice gold finish. Many of these doorstops the gold wore off and they get a silver finish. A minor rust spot on the bottom is the only flaw. You can see in the last picture the #464 as I point to with my finger.
