Offered is this beautiful ANTIQUE RARE TAYLOR COOK EARLY AMERICANA Cast Iron DOORSTOP Hallmarked. I think it could be called shabbie chic. This belonged to my Aunt who died last year at the age of 99. This striking dog looks like he is just walking along; 85 year old antique charm at its finest. He has yellowish spots and a blue collar and is standing on a base of yellow. This dog doorstop measures approximately 7 ¾ tall from the top of his ear to the bottom of the base. The base he is standing on is approximately 7 5/8 by 2 1/8 at the widest point. It is quite heavy, solid, strong and well made. He weighs right at 5 pounds. Please see photos; they are part of the description. It is a lovely piece. It has not been washed, cleaned or waxed. There may be a bit of rust. We have listed these doorstops separately and without any reserve.. Measuring 10 ½” tall by 6″ wide and 1 deep, this early 20. Century Cast Iron Doorstop depicts a Squirrel holding an Acorn. After searching online I was unable to find another example of this Squirrel Doorstop anywhere! The brown, white and black painted surface you see on this Doorstop is guaranteed to be original. There are some small removable white paint specks to the surface, but there are no other problems or any restorations. On the back you can see a maker’s mark which is difficult to read.
