We were contacted by an Expert Collector of Hubley items, who informed us that this doorstop is Not an Authentic Hubley. We want to be fair and truthful in our postings, so we are making changes to update the info as we know it now And, Obviously we are reducing the price as it is Not a Hubley design, but it is still in the Antique range, as far as we can tell, so it is a valuable piece. The information that we now have is that Many companies copied the success of the Hubley company and put out their Own versions of the popular items. It seems that there were too many companies to even keep track of but many of their work has survived, as we can see by this piece. Here we have a RARE Antique Cast Iron Boston Terrier LEFT FACING Dog Doorstop in great physical shape. There are No connector screws that we can see, it looks like the seams were welded together. The paint is original and worn in all the right places. This guy weighs 4 pounds, 9.5 ounces. The seams are very tight and his paint shows his age. His SIZE: 7 1/2 ” LONG, X 6 7/8 ” HIGH. ++++++++++++++++ Note: All items come from a Smoke FREE home but, we do have cats! Original antique 1920s Hubley cast iron art deco doorstop – Charleston Dancers designed by cartoonist and illustrator Anne Fish. 5 1/4 by 8 3/4 by 1 1/2 inches. This is a 1920s original, not one of the more recent recasts with different paint color. Doorstop is missing paint, chips and crazing. The original red dance floor was painted over with mint green paint some time ago. You can see the red paint below where it is chipped or scratched. While they had the paint brush out, they added some mint green polka dots to the pink skirt as well. Please see photos for condition. Guaranteed old and original. Check out my other items. No chips, cracks, or breaks. 106.15 oz which is right between 6 and 7 lbs. Just under 12″ tall, 9″ wide, and 3 1/2 deep. It is not marked with a maker. It will be protected well and insured.
