Superb find, awesome and authentic antique / vintage white striding cat doorstop still bank combination on its original brick styled base… Made c 1940s, but exact date is unknown as no makers mark found. Guessing made in USA. All original throughout, paint is very good with natural aging, to be expected of an original piece… Has very superficial oxidation as shown… The only TLC I gave this piece was to tenderly dust and buff off a few carpet strands and minor debris with a dry cloth. I will fully guarantee that this is NOT a reproduction and that it is indeed an original antique/ vintage piece. Please see all the images closely, as the beauty of this cat is in its details. Very rare to find an original like this especially in white… Have seen some black similar but from the lines and details, they appear to be reproductions (my opinion, only) and have no base as well. This cat is solidly attached to the base with old screws that still have original paint on them, so bank has not been taken apart from what I can see… On flat hard surface, sits firm and straight with a very minute wobble to one corner if checking / trying to purposely rock , believe just made a bit off level in its manufacturing as not bent or damaged in any way… Of course, no issue on a carpet.. Mentioning for full disclosure. Overall this piece measures appx 9″ L x 8″ H x 4 W… The cat itself is 9″ L x 7.5″ H and at is broadest point, the hips, 3.75 W… The face from jowl to jowl is 2″ W and 2.25″ W at the ears. Its chest is 3 W… Weight of this beauty is appx 5.5-6 pounds. As shown, it has a gorgeous and naturally aged finish, again, all paint is original, no touch up anywhere not damage found. The oxidation is quite normal and would leave as is, which is by your preference… May desire to clear coat spray with proper product to prevent further oxidation in the future as comes from natural moisture in the air… Was found with a few carpet strands clinging to the base, carefully cleaned but may have a few I missed. Will be well packaged to get to you safely and inured of course..
