HILTON HEAD HUMANE (HHH). VINTAGE/ANTIQUE CAST IRON BLACK GUARD CAT. SITTING ON TRAPEZOID BASE. DESCRIPTION : An impressive sitting, green/gold eyed, watchful, black cat perched atop a trapezoid base made of cast iron and very appropriate as a door stop weighing in at approximately 12 pounds 6 ounces is offered here. Although this piece does not have visible markings it has many of the characteristics of a Hubley design doorstop. There are some number-like markings at the center top of the piece but they are very hard to discern There is also a round screw head-like mark at the level of what might be a neck bauble. The cat has golden colored eyes that have a green tint. This piece, in our opinion, is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear. We received and have listed a large collection of vintage/antique cast iron doorstops from a valued collector’s estate; be sure to check out our store to see them all.
