This Cast Iron Old Salt Door Stop comes from my parents Scituate, Mass Summer Home and dates back over 75 years at least! This doorstop looks as if it could be used as a bank too by the slit in the bank. 15 inches tall and approximately 13 pounds. There is a name on the top of the base, I just can not read it as it’s been eroded from salt it seems like. The paint is in EXCELLENT condition. Offering this wonderful early cast iron doorstop of a bushy tailed squirrel on a tree stump nibbling on a nut. He retains his original painted surcharge and fine detailing. He’s very likely Hubley and an early one at that. 1880 to 1920 circa time period. Right as rain and fresh to market from an early country estate in Blair County Pennsylvania.
