Rare Antique Original ROOSTER Marked #8232 Cast Iron Doorstop Mold 135lbs.. This is basically the HOLY GRAIL if you collect door stops. I have researched for the past month before listing these and have come up with nothing. They could be worth a ton more but with the process of single antique ones and the rarity of this piece I think my price is fair. You WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER, except for the other two auctions I have listed. Be sure to check them out. They came from a dealer in Vermont that had them in his closed store for the last 30 years. On with the details. It is extremely HEAVY at a solid 135lbs. This piece Measures 14″ tall by 13″ wide by 4 thick and all solid, not hollow one bit! . AGAIN, marked 8232 on the bottom. Has the original holes that would have been used. This is a rooster. This would have been a flat back doorstop. Not sure if it ever made it into production and not sure who produced with 4-digit numbers. I put a drop of liquid gold on it just to bring out it’s gorgeous look rather than it looking dull and old. Did not remove anything from it whatsoever. I have two other examples for sale. Check out ALL the pictures as I do consider them part of the description as well. Ally Sloper Antique Cast Iron Doorstop set of 2 English 19th Century. Being offered for sale is a pair of late 19th century cast iron English doorstops. These are from the old English cartoon about a drunken con man and his wife in. Sloper is depicted wearing a bonnet and holding a baby in each hand with a dog at her feet. Ally Sloper in depicted holding onto his umbrella for stability, he has an oversized nose and a top hat and he is dressed nicely with coattails visible. He also has a small dog at his feet. Sloper stands 10 7/8 tall and 6 1/8 across the base. Total weight is 3.7 lbs. Ally stands 11 1/8 tall and 6 1/8 across the base. Total weight is 3.5 lbs. The condition is shown in the photos. They are in fantastic condition. The enamel is bright, vibrant and appears to be original; only minimal chipping and enamel loss commiserate with age. Ally has a cast number on the back but it is illegible (3rd photo), I can not locate any number on Mrs. Antique/Vintage & Estate Items–These items are not new.
