Up for sale is a wonderful example of a classic doorstop by renown New England artist Sarah W Symonds. This beautiful cast iron doorstop by Sarah W Symonds is a must-have for any collector of metalware and cast iron items. The Phoebe design, made in 1910, is a stunning addition to any home decor. Its durable construction and original state make it a wonderful piece to display or use as a functional doorstop. The material of cast iron adds a touch of elegance and strength to any space. This piece is out of my late mom’s collection, and will be listing more in the coming weeks. My parents used to scour antique shops in the 70’s for these somewhat elusive pieces. Paint on this very rare piece appears to be original, unretouched and very detailed. It shows the nicks and dings of 50-60 years of use before being put on a display shelf. She displays beautifully and could easily be the centerpiece of a nice collection.

ANTIQUE HUBLEY CAST IRON CAT DOORSTOP. INTRICATE DETAILING AND QUALITY CONSTRUCTION – PINK COLORING IN THE CENTER OF THE EARS AND PINK ON THE BACK “RIBBON” AS SHOWN. MAKES A GREAT COLLECTIBLE FOR THAT CAST IRON OR CAT PERSON. MADE IN THE USA. MADE OF DURABLE CAST IRON. MARKED “HUBLEY 335″ ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOORSTOP. SIZE IS 10 1/4 INCHES LONG ACROSS THE FRONT, 5 1/2 INCHES TALL TO THE TIP OF THE CAT’S EAR, 5 1/2 INCHES WIDE AT IT’S WIDEST POINT ON THE BOTTOM. WEIGHT IS 4 POUNDS 10 OUNCES.
