Early Antique Cast iron Hand forged folk art Rooster/cock weathervane/doorstop, this appears to be quite old and hand forged, measures 15 inch x 15 inch.
I found this in my Uncle’s estate. He was a big collector his whole life. I believe it may be a doorstop as it will stand up on a table. It weighs over 5 lbs. Please ask any que or concerns. It’s time I pass this cool piece along.

Early 20th Century Original Painted Rooster Door Stop. Please see all pictures as they are the most important part of the description. This regal rooster doorstop has surface rust, and his beak is chipped at the tip, but he’s a very solid vintage piece otherwise. Weighing at 2 pounds, 15 ounces, he can hold most doors open for you. Nice thick (not original) felt feet on the bottom, so he’s ready to display or do his work. There is a makers mark on the back of the rooster. These fine turn-of-the (20th)-century Matching Cast Iron doorstops each feature a parrot or cockatoo surrounded by rococo scrollwork and a ring handle top. The condition is exceptional used, with mostly extant original paint and verdigris highlights among the cast iron scrollwork. Both impressed with the numbers “145” on verso. Mostly original paint remains with minor losses. Dimensions ea: 9.25 in. H x 5 in. W x 1-7/8 in. Weight, unpacked, pair: 4 lbs.
