This is a RARE Antique Victorian Cast Iron Lion Door Stop, very heavy at 10lbs. It is multicolored and made of cast iron, measuring 9 inches in length, 7 inches in depth, and 4.25 inches in width. HILTON HEAD HUMANE (HHH). ANTIQUE MAGNIFICENT LION CAST IRON DOORSTOP. DESCRIPTION : What an outstanding lion figure this is; the magnificent, strong, male, cast iron lion commands attention whether it be used as a doorstop or an object of art! This piece echos those popular in Victorian Era England. It is made of 2 piece cast iron; has a royal lion visage and is finished in a gold colored paint. Measuring approximately 7″ high x 9″ long x 4 1/2 deep and weighing 9 pounds 11 ounces this figure worthy of inclusion on a regal emblem is in very good condition with only expected wear of the gold finish commensurate with age. Our items have been donated to our thrift store and we usually do not have first hand knowledge of the item. We are also staffed by volunteers who are probably not expert in the item listed. For sale is an antique cast iron lying down lion door stop / paperweight / bookend. Painted white at some time. Unmarked as far as I can see. Age is probably late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Condition is excellent with only some paint wear as seen in photos. Measures 2 3/4″ in height, 2″ wide and 5 1/2 in length. Great old collectable for a door stop, paperweight, bookend, zoo, circus or just an animal collector! Please Note: Most of my items are vintage or pre-owned and may show signs of wear, age and use.
