This offering is for an old cast iron cat doorstop. The figure measures app. 9.5 tall and it retains what appears to be the original paint surface. The paint scheme of dark blue stripes on a lighter blue ground combined with the yellow and white are nothing short of charming. My guess is the cat was made in the first half of the 20th century, probably around the 1950’s. It has gotten a very nice paint surface with appropriate crazing, chipping to the paint and minor losses. There is also a bit of minor rust at the edges and wear point as seen in our photo’s. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them. A vintage cast iron Hubley doorstop, number 189, depicting a basket of flowers. It weighs 5 pounds 4 ounces, and measures 10 1/2″ tall by 7 1/2″ wide by 2 1/4 deep. The item is in original paint. The paint is mostly intact, with some chipping, spots of rust, mostly on the base, and other signs of age and use. The item is not listed in the Smith Doorstop book.
