Reminiscent of old cast iron radio speaker sides missings. We have not been able to reference this piece. Appears to have possibly been repainted in this teal color. THIS IS A CAST IRON ANTIQUE DOOR STOP WITH THE ORIGINAL CHORD AND SOME TYPE OF MECHANISM ON THE BACK THAT MAY BE PART OF A SPEAKER. I HAVE SEEN LIGHTS ON THE BACK OF SOME. THIS MAY BE PART OF A SPEAKER SYSTEM. IT IS THE ORIGINAL PATINA AND HAS BRONZE TONE PEAKING THROUGHOUT. THE 3 FEET ARE THE HEADS OF A MYSTICAL FISH. THE CIRCLE HAS GRAPHICS OF SWORDS, LANTERNS, GUNS, ANCHORS, CRABS & SEAGULLS. I HAVE DONE NO POLISHING OR TOUCHING UP AND HAVE ONLY BRUSHED IT WITH A DRY BRUSH. IT IS ALL ORIGINAL PATINA. Rare Patinated Cast Iron Castle Speaker Front. Castle with seven turrets and two flags. On base, crossed arms with shield marked “TOWER”. Two trumpeters at the base. Base attached with two screws. Possibly had bumpers on reverse originally. Dimensions: ring 17 1/2″ in diameter; 17 3/4″ high; base 6 deep. Condition: excellent vintage condition, with small spot of oxidation?
