Description : Think SpringAn antique painted cast iron figural Flower Doorstop, National Foundry, Whitman, Massachusetts, c. This is Tulip Pot , National Foundry design No. A relatively heavy stop with (5) robust Tulips filling up a fluted and tiered flowerpot-type base. Note : The National Foundry was a contemporary of Hubley by 10 years or so. Each Tulip Pot is entirely unique with an endless variety of color combinations ; true American Folk Art! It has not been cleaned. Moderate, age-appropriate crazing noted on the surface throughout (see close-ups). Displays brilliantly as-is, but could also certainly from light cleaning, if desired. Theres definitely some bold, vibrant color hiding in there. See photos for complete details and please consider them as part of the description. This is one of National Foundrys larger-sized floral stops; approximately 8-1/4H x 7W overall and weighing 5.6 lbs!
