HUBLEY LATE 19TH C ORIG ANTIQUE CAST IRON COLOR PEACOCK DOORSTOP, WithORIG PAINT

RARE & NEAR MINT COLORFUL HUBLEY CAST IRON ” STYLIZED PEACOCK ” DOORSTOP DOOR STOP! Highly Sought After Treasure in almost Perfect Condition with Original Paint, this Antique Doorstop was made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA in the 1920’s – 1930’s. Hubley made these in two sizes, one taller and narrower, and one shorter and wider. This one is the shorter and wider version. It measures 6 1/4″ tall and 6 1/2″ wide and is made of solid cast iron, which makes it weigh over 5 pounds! This doorstop came in several color variations, but this one, in the majestic Royal Blue, Gold, Orange and Green, is the most favored. It appears in this size and coloration in Jeanne Bertoia’s book ” Doorstops “. It also appears in this coloration in John and Nancy Smith’s ” The Doorstop Book “, but in the slightly taller and narrower version (7 1/8″ X 5 1/4″). Happy Pansy faces make this 1930’s antique Hubley doorstop so pretty and fun! The pansies are multi-colored and realistic. Love the stripped bowl base and the open work among the flowers, stems and leaves. Marked on the back with Hubleys three digit incised number 256, Hubley Manufacturing Company was located in Lancaster, PA. Hubley is famous among doorstop collectors for their attention to detail in their realistic designs. Measures: 7″ X 5 1/2″. All original with the nicks and patina you would expect from all the years. Antique Hubley Gnome Cast Iron Doorstop, Orig. Paint, Excellent Condition, L@@K

This doorstop is a Gnome carrying a lantern in one hand and a set of keys in the other. It measures apx 10 tall and apx 5 at the widest point. It has a patent pend mark on the back. It is in really excellent condition for its age. I dont see any cracks to the iron. It retains the original painted finish, with some wear as you can see in the photos. Sweet 1930’s Hubley Wild Roses flower basket antique doorstop. Pretty arrangement of multi -colored flowers in a graceful basket weave base making this door stop so lovely. Topped off with a pink bow and base. Marked on the back with Hubley’s three digit incised number 475. Produced by Hubley Manufacturing Company. Hubley was located in Lancaster, PA. I RECENTLY ACQUIRED A SMALL ESTATE COLLECTION OF ITEMS FROM THE MID 1800-S UP TO ABOUT 1950. THIS WONDERFUL FIND WAS AMONG THE TREASURES FOUND! IT IS A 1930’S EAR HUBLEY CAST IRON DOORSTOP. IT IS UN-MARKED, HUBLEY DID NOT MARK CAST IRON UNTIL THE 1940’S. IT MEASURES ABOUT 6 3/8″ X 4 7/8″ AND IS A SITTING BLACK SCOTTIE DOG WITH DEEP EXPRESSIVE EYES, A SHINY COAT, RED COLLAR & MOUTH! THE MOLD MARKS ARE VISIBLE DOWN HIS BACK, THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS FACE AND LEFT PAW. IT RETAILS MOST ALL OF HIS ORIGINAL BLACK & RED PAINT.
