CAST IRON DOOR STOP. Vintage Figural German Shepherd Door Stop. Made of Solid Cast Iron. I’m almost sure this is a Hubley, that has been repainted black. Measures 6 5/8″ high, and a little over 4″ at the widest.. Weights 3 pounds and 2.5 ounces.. Unmarked, You can see this doorstop in: The Encyclopedia of Antique Doorstops by Schiffer Publishing. CONDITION: Has been repainted. Has paint lost and minor surface rust. General wear to be expected. All items will be insured. All international items will be insured. Antique Hubley Cast Iron German Shepherd Dog Doorstop X Rare Large Front Facing

This wonderful figural Hubley model #380 cast iron German Shepherd doorstop is the more rare extra large front facing orientation. It measures approximately 13″ long by 10″ high by 4 deep, weighs about 5 1/2 pounds, and it is in wonderful condition. The hand painted eyes, ears and fur have a beautiful patina commensurate with age. It has excellent detailed workmanship head to toe, and even the fur is three-dimensional. There are no cracks or other structural damage. The original factory paint is in wonderful condition with tiny chips in several areas (see photos), typical of cast iron collectibles of this age. This rarely seen size and orientation is a must for any doorstop or cast iron collector, and for dog lovers too!
